When I first discussed the swine flu story with a respected doctor friend of mine (OK, the hell with it, he’s my shrink, ok?), he predicted that the mystery of why so many more people were apparently dying from the flu in Mexico than anywhere else might come down to bad reporting.
There are some key signs that reporting issues may indeed be a factor.
