Do the sweeteners really cause cancer?
Nah. Not that anyone has shown. Even if you drink a ton.
What about the caffeine?
Not enough to do you any harm.
And those studies showing diet soda drinkers to be major weight gainers?
Well, this could be a chicken/egg issue (including whether the diet soda drinker ate both before washing them down with a Diet Rite).
Will the bubbles make your bones brittle?
Nope. But the phosphoric acid can lead to an increased risk for osteoporosis.
