One of the more frustrating recent medical stories has been the Minnesota parents who are trying to keep doctors from giving their cancer-stricken son chemotherapy (even though there is a reasonable chance the treatment would be effective).
Thankfully, a court intervened and ordered health providers to give the kid the care he needs. But so far, Daniel Hauser says he is planning to punch or kick anyone who tries to administer the treatment. Cancer and parents like these. Not an easy road for a 13 year-old kid.
Update: Since I first posted this story, a judge has put out an arrest warrant for Danial Hauser’s mother who missed a court appearance. If she doesn’t get this kid some care, could we see an arrest warrant for reckless homicide at some point?
