It has been assumed that animals that are more social have bigger brains. A lot of studies have supported this notion. However, new research indicates that some animals who are quite social don’t have a ton of brainpower for their body-size. Meerkats are one example. Very social. Their own TV show. Not that bright. The same can be said for most of the folks who appear on prime time network sitcoms.
On the other hand, house cats are quite brainy (look at what they make you do for them) but aren’t too social.
FWIW, I am a xenophobic misanthrope and a flat out genius. Just offering that to do my share to help the science along.
