While the benefits and harms of watching television are up for debate, there is no doubt that the threat of falling televisions (that are now bigger and less stable) is an increasing danger faced by kids. This happened to a friend of mine with nearly tragic results.
This is one area where folks around the country can look to San Francisco for leadership. Since we have the occasional earthquake, we are pretty used to locking everything down.
