Let Them Eat Fruit

A group of EU countries are banding together to create a program to tackle the Union’s childhood obesity problem. The idea is to get kids to eat more fruits and vegetables. How will they achieve the goal?

They are going to give away free fruits and vegetables at schools starting next year. Sure beats vending machines in the halls and pizza and Tator Tots in the cafeteria.

While it’s often hard to get EU nations to agree on anything, 24 of them are participating in this program (Latvia, Finland and Sweden opted out).
