Barack Obama read Dr. Atul Gawande’s New Yorker piece on the cost of healthcare that was focused on McAllen, Texas. He’s cited it in several meetings on health care reform. Writing an article and then having the POTUS cite it and potentially use it to make policy is pretty cool.
