Just how bad is BPA? Are we in danger or is the anti-BPA thing just the latest health/environmental fad?
That is really a key question. We’ve already read the stories about BPA in baby bottles and other plastics. But it shows up in a lot more places as well. For example, Health Canada just found traces of it in baby food that is sold in glass jars.
BPA can migrate from plastic and the plastic linings of metal cans and lids. A plastic coating on the lids prevents corrosion of the metal and contamination of the food.
Now even those who performed this study admit that the levels of BPA found in these jars of food are well within the so-called acceptable levels. But it can’t be good. And this is just one source. And BPA is only one of the potentially harmful chemicals we ingest.
