Julie Holland was a recent guest on the always incredible Fresh Air with Terry Gross. Any shrink will tell you that doing intake (seeing incoming and often emergency psych patients at a hospital) can be a challenging and draining experience. Holland ran the Saturday and Sunday night shifts at the psychiatric ER at Bellevue. Her new memoir is called Weekends at Bellevue: Nine Years on the Night Shift at the Psych ER.
